Hello lovers.
My name is Katie Spain. I am a journalist and author who grew up on a dairy farm in Meningie, South Australia. I found my writing groove (and a serious thing for vintage clothing) in London where I worked in music, travel and West End theatre journalism, and hosted a digital radio show in the backstreets of Shoreditch. After returning to Australia, I followed my heart back to South Australia to cumulate keyboard strokes. I am the drinks writer for Good Food (Sydney Morning Herald and The Age), feature writer for WBM (Australia’s Wine Business Magazine) and state editor (South Australia, baby) for Gourmet Traveller.
I am also a regular guest on ABC and 5AA radio and have hosted events across the state.
I live on a little, leafy property in the Adelaide Hills (and occasionally take my retro caravan on the road – in search of rural yarns). Storytelling has always made my heart skip a beat – especially tales full of heart. It made perfect sense to extend that storytelling to officiating weddings and other ceremonies. After all, love stories are the best stories.
As a Commonwealth Registered Civil Celebrant, I perform wedding ceremonies and help couples create their perfect, personalised day.
A whole lotta love
In addition to wedding ceremonies, I also perform wedding vow renewals, commitment ceremonies, baby naming ceremonies, funerals and memorials. No matter the occasion, your ceremony will be conducted with plenty of heart and ultimate professionalism.
Choosing a celebrant is a very special moment in your life. My initial, no obligation face-to-face meeting is cost free.
WE COULD NOT HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER CELEBRANT. KATIE WAS ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL, SHE SPOKE INCREDIBLY WELL AND PERSONALISED OUR CEREMONY EXACTLY THE WAY WE HAD HOPED. WE RECEIVED SO MANY COMPLIMENTS FROM OUR GUESTS WHO WERE EXTREMELY IMPRESSED WITH KATIE AND HOW BEAUTIFULLY SHE RAN THE CEREMONY. WE CANNOT THANK HER ENOUGH FOR MAKING OUR CEREMONY INCREDIBLY SPECIAL AND SOMETHING WE WILL NEVER FORGET.”
